Church Services

Important Notice:   all church services are cancelled during this short period of national lockdown.
Services re-start every Sunday at 10.30am from 6th December. 

St Matthews Sunday service  10.30am.  Social distancing and hygiene measures are in place.  Sadly it is not possible to sing in church at the moment.

1st and 2nd Sunday of the Month – Holy Communion
3rd, 4th and 5th Sunday of the Month – Service of the Word

If you still can’t get to church in person for any reason…  

Many churches are holding services ‘behind closed doors’ and streaming these online on facebook or other platforms, and church services are also broadcast on TV and radio.

Here are some suggestions:

A service of worship is broadcast every Sunday on Radio 4 at 8.10am and is available as a podcast or on the radio 4 website.

Evensong (archived evensongs from former years) is broadcast on Radio 3 at 3.30pm on Wednesdays, and repeated at 3pm on Sundays.

Songs of Praise is broadcast at 1.15pm on BBC1

Local churches

Rochester Cathedral is live streaming the Cathedral Eucharist at 11.30am on the ‘Worship  online’ page of the Cathedral website.  The service is afterwards available on facebook and youtube
Cathedral  Evensong (with singing by choristers and lay clerks) on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 5.30pm; and on Sundays at 3.15pm
